Eligibility for MBBS and BDS admission in Punjab
Candidates must pass the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) and score at least 60% in FSc or an equivalent exam. Biology and Chemistry are compulsory subjects. Candidates must also have passed either Physics or Mathematics.
Merit formula for MBBS and BDS 2026-27
Your merit is worked out from three results, each with a fixed weight:

Because MDCAT carries half the marks, a strong test score matters most. UHS held MDCAT 2026 on 20 September 2026 and has published the result on its website.
College preferences
Candidates applying to public medical colleges must list all colleges in their order of preference. For private medical colleges there is no limit on the number of preferences. Choose carefully, because your seat will be offered on merit and your preference order.
Fee and what happens after the merit list
The annual tuition fee for open-merit seats at public medical and dental colleges is Rs50,000. If you are selected, you must deposit your fee within three working days after the merit list is released. Missing this deadline can cost you the seat, so keep your fee ready in advance.
